Polyphony Choir

POLYPHONY is a Pro-Am community choir based in Eora (Sydney).

Founded over a decade ago, Polyphony has been led by some of Australia’s leading contemporary musicians, including Jack Colwell, Sally Whitwell, Dan Walker, and Corin Bone. The choir is currently under the direction of acclaimed Australian composer Oliver John Cameron.

Not limited by genre or era, Polyphony creates themed concert works with original arrangements commissioned to emerging Australian artists and songwriters and via its Pro-Am community mentorship program.

Works are shaped around an idea - whether it be a human experience, a thought, a feeling - and explores through pieces that emotes this within its members.

Past repertoire has ranged from Fauré’s 19th-century Requiem to The Smashing Pumpkins, Cocteau Twins, an eight-minute Björk medley, The Temper Trap, and The Jezabels. Polyphony aims to keep its members — and audiences — on their toes.
