Jane Johnston, PREC
Jane comes from a very close knit community in downtown Toronto where everyone knew your name, there were annual street parties, playing tag until dark, sleepovers and you could always pop in to visit neighbours for a cup of tea. Her real estate team is called the Briar Hill Group after one of the streets in her neighbourhood. She picked that name because it reminds her that community always comes first. Jane came to real estate from teaching high school physical education and arrived in Victoria in 1995 to teach Marine Environmental Science at Pearson College. In 1999, she entered into and completed a Masters' Degree in Education at the University of Victoria and subsequently worked at the Ministry of Education and what is now VIU as a professor of Education, she was also a teacher of entrepreneurship in the Sooke School District. Jane gravitated to real estate because she felt she could apply her skills as a teacher and as a leader to business and to make a difference in real estate.
