Sophia Somajo

Sophia Somajo is a Swedish artist and songwriter known for her fearless contrasts, from lo-fi DIY beginnings to global pop hits. At just 22, she released her self-written and self-produced debut EP Stockholm Calling, recording vocals directly into her laptop.

While building a cult following as an underground artist, Somajo also became a top-tier pop songwriter. At 24, she co-wrote her first Billboard #1 for Britney Spears under a pseudonym alongside Max Martin. Her 2017 album Freudian Slip, made with Patrik Berger, was named one of Pitchfork’s 20 Best Pop and R&B Albums of 2017.

In 2018, she featured on Alan Walker’s Diamond Heart, which has since surpassed half a billion streams.

After years of separating her dual careers, Somajo began merging them with her most personal project yet, Clown (2025). In a full-circle moment, Max Martin joined the project, their first direct collaboration on her own music. Clown tells a story of endings, beginnings, and starting over.
