Nikos Zarkos

NIKOS ZARKOS has shown a keen interest in exploring the uncharted peripheries of the modern guitar repertoire, while at the same time he has been treasuring the Greek guitaristic literature.

Born in Kavala, Greece, in 1981, started playing the guitar at the age of 8 and received his academic training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London (Bachelor of Music) with professor Robert Brightmore, and also at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg – Augsburg (Diplommusiker K.A. and Meisterklassendiplom) with professor Franz Halasz.

His discography includes two solo CDs: Greek Guitar Music of the 21st Century (2011, Subways Music) and Female Writing for Guitar (2013, Irida Classical).
