Michael Vargas

Michael started playing the violin at the age of 10 and became a scholar of Awit Institute for the Arts, a music school in Pasig, under the tutelage of Joshua Legaspi. Adjudged as the “First 100% Batang Awit” and became the first concertmaster of Awit Children’s Chamber Orchestra (ACCO) under the baton of Ferdinand Medina of the U.P. College of Music. After AWIT, he continued studying violin at
Philippine High School for the Arts, under Prof. Arturo Molina.

Later on, he entered St. Scholastica’s College Manila to pursue degree in Bachelor of Music, major in violin and was able to accomplished his junior recital last March 2017 under Prof. Juan Luis Munoz. Michael also attended several master classes by some foreign musicians like German violinist Angelo Bard, Byelorussian teacher, soloist and chamber musician Vadim Mazo, violinist Naaman Sluchin from the French string quartet Quatour Diotima.
