3rd Street Jazz
The name 3rd Street Jazz actually came from one of the most popular records stores in the Philadelphia area. Located at 10 North 3rd Street it was a store I visited at least once a month from the mid 70’s until 1981 when I departed for Okinawa while serving in the United States Air Force. It seemed like every time I was home on leave I made it a point to visit 3rd Street Jazz to buy something rare to take back with me wherever I was stationed at. The employees of 3rd Street were to me the most knowledgeable historians of the jazz record business. This YouTube Channel name 3rd Street Jazz and my Facebook page with the same name is really my way of honoring this Philly icon. I LOVED that record store. Every song loaded to this page has come from my personal CD collection. Hope you enjoy and please share it to you friend as we build.
