BUDDHA SHASAN


Gautama Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, was born around 563 BCE in Lumbini (present-day Nepal). He is the founder of Buddhism and is often referred to as "Buddha," meaning "the Awakened One" or "the Enlightened One."

Early Life: Siddhartha was a prince. His father kept him sheltered from the harsh realities of life, but eventually, he encountered old age, illness, and death, which led him to question the nature of existence.

Renunciation and Asceticism: Siddhartha renounced his royal life and embarked on a spiritual quest. He practiced extreme asceticism with various teachers but found no lasting satisfaction.
