The Central Council of lbadan Indigenes (CCII) started as an umbrella body for all the
soclo-cultural societies and clubs of Ibadan extraction both at home and in the diaspora.
One of the main objectives for its formation is to provide a forum for the coordination,
harmonization and promotion of the economic,soclal,educational and cultural interest of
the constituent societies with a vlew to achieving the fullest measure of effectiveness.The
formation of the organization was initially conceived by the coming together of three
prominent socio-cultural societies: Ibodan Progressive Union (IPU), Lagelu '16' Club and
Ibadan Descendont Union of theUniversity of lbadan and the Polytechnic of Ibadan (IDU
UI/POLY) In 1982. Though CCII Is an apolitical organization; yet it has the objective of
