Clear Site started out pulling houses down by hand, recovering all we could from homes.
This helped offset the house removal cost for the client as well as diverting tonnes of material from landfill, often giving it away freely.
That recycling and sustainability ethos is still a large part of our methodology . We have recently completed a project for Watercare where we recycled nearly 90% of the houses materials which is a fantastic effort.
With changes in workplace legislation, deconstruction by hand is often not viable from a safety perspective but we still try our best to recycle all we can. Not only is it greener for all of us, it has a tangible value that is often overlooked in wholesale/standard demolition practices. This benefits not only us and our clients, but also the small businesses who rely on the materials we supply as well as the community/pacific island families who can reuse what we give away.
