GGAIS

The GGAIS was established for the purpose of bringing together emerging Georgetown scholars in the field of Islamic Studies from different disciplines and thus creating a space for interdisciplinary exchange, research and dialogue. We believe that creating an extra-curricular space for graduate students to engage in scholarly debates and academic projects will enhance the quality of the scholars' research, foster connections among them and result in more productive and creative outcomes. We plan to organize workshops for enhancing the academic skills (such as conducting research, writing, lecturing) of the members. By inviting students and scholars from other universities in the Washington DC area we wish to draw more awareness (public and academic) to the scholarly work undertaken in Georgetown in the field of Islamic Studies.
