Cantare Children's Choir

Founded in 1997 by Catherine Glaser-Climie. Cantaré Children's Choir is widely known as one of Calgary's premiere performing arts institutions. Nurturing young minds from Kodaly classes at age 3 until high school graduation and beyond!

Cantare's central tenet "More Than Music" stresses using collective singing to develop young people into sensitive creative, and engaged artists who are passionate justice seekers and informed global citizens. Singers develop a comprehensive musical foundation at an early age so they can thoughtfully engage with numerous musical styles from around the world in their youth. Choristers in Cantaré become comfortable tackling masterworks of the Renaissance, Baroque, and Romantic Periods along with Contemporary gems - including 18 commissioned works for the choir. The family of choirs is a collaborative partner with Calgary Opera and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. The choristers are also the Resident Artists of the Field of Crosses Memorial Project.
