Nature and Heritage with Dr Jayant Biswas
Cave Subject altogether under the earth in our Indian education system. Fortunately, in the last few years from our India's cave, several facts and figures came out which give a new ray to refresh our earlier scientific conceptions. Some of them are- i) Meghalyan Age: evidence came out from a cave of Meghalaya divided the period earlier to Indus valley civilizations and the present age into two separate ages. ii) The cavefishes identified from different caves of the world were of limited sizes, but one cavefish population identified from Meghalayan caves measures about 1½ in length. iii) Limestone caves measure several hundred km in it, but the world's unique longest sandstone cave, measuring 24,583 m in length is mapped in Meghalaya.
