NGO-CEDAW

The Cambodian NGO Committee on CEDAW (NGO-CEDAW) was established in 1995 to monitor Cambodia's implementation of the UN Convention on Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). It is now a coalition of over 40 local organizations working to advance the condition of women in Cambodia.
The work of NGO-CEDAW also includes: research; advocacy and lobbying; awareness-raising; capacity-building; and information exchange among its members.

NGO-CEDAW is currently advocating the amendment of the Cambodian law on domestic violence to broaden the protection offered to persons at risk of violence, to strengthen enforcement mechanisms, and to clarify that all forms of domestic violence are crimes.
