Texas Veterans Land Board
The Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) was created in 1946 to administer benefits exclusively for Texas Veterans. In the early days, the VLB offered Veterans coming back from World War II an opportunity to purchase tracts of Texas land. Today the programs have expanded to include competitive financing on home and home improvement loans, in addition to the land loan program. The VLB also runs the nine Texas State Veterans Homes, which provide long-term care for Veterans and their spouses, and the four Texas State Veterans Cemeteries, which provide free burial services.
Texas is among a small group of states to offer these types of benefits to Veterans and the only state with a land loan program. The VLB serves Texas Veterans for life!
