OSCAAL
OSCAAL is a talented yoiker, singer and songwriter with upcoming modern Sami music. His music is a mix between yoik, one of the oldest surviving singing traditions in Europe, and modern pop. He his singing in his mother tongue, Northern Sami, a language spoken by only 30,000 people. OSCAAL is also the winner of the 2025 Sámi Grand Prix, which marks the beginning of his journey. Later this year he will be releasing songs from his upcoming album.
This channel gives you the opportinity to listen to the music of OSCAAL and also other Sámi music and traditional yoiks. Sámi are the arctic indigenous people inhabiting Sápmi, which today encompasses parts of far northern Sweden, Norway, Finland and the Kola Peninsula of Russia.
