Welcome! I'm Priya Raman (or Miss Priya as kids call me), founder of Rhythm Roots. I am a Chicago-based dance educator, deeply passionate about dance and teaching kids.
I've been dancing for as long as I can remember! Growing up in a small town of Pilani in Rajasthan, India, I trained in the Indian Classical dance form of Bharatanatyam, and danced my way through school and college, exploring various dance forms.
After moving to the United States in 2012, I discovered my love for teaching through various opportunities, and decided to pursue what truly makes me happy - dancing and teaching kids. I have been teaching kids of all ages for ~9 years. Creating engaging content and interacting with kids of all ages and diverse learner needs makes me the happiest! Through my content, I strive to provide a glimpse into India's various genres of dance and it’s beautiful culture with active dance routines set to upbeat Bollywood tunes.
