Fulton J. Sheen-The Catholic Hour
This Fulton J. Sheen-The Catholic Hour Channel features original radio broadcasts (fully restored and speed corrected) of the then-Monsignor Fulton J. Sheen's least known public work, his talks on NBC Radio's "The Catholic Hour" delivered between 1930 and 1952. In many ways, this is Sheen at his zenith, sometimes even more so than his "Life Is Worth Living" television career of 1952-1957. These audio-only vids are pure Sheen delivered during three of our world's most tumultuous times, The Great Depression, World War II, and the earliest years of The Cold War. They feature no TV dramatics nor do they have very much of Sheen's charming, but at times corny, humor. Sheen is pure of voice, pure of intention, and pure of soul in his radio talks, many of which formed the basis of several of his later books and TV programs. These programs were sponsored by the National Council of Catholic Men of Washington DC who published transcripts of all of Sheen's broadcasts. God Love You!
