Belfast City Marathon

Belfast City Marathon first took place on May Day 1982 with around 3,000 participants. Historically the event was hosted every year on Bank Holiday Monday (May Day). In 2019 history was made with the event moving to a Sunday for the first time ever.

The Mash Direct Belfast City Marathon now normally takes place on the first Sunday of May each year. Starting on the grounds of the iconic Stormont Estate, finishing at Ormeau Park, taking in North, East, South and West of the City, the event includes a Marathon / Wheelchair Race, Team Relay, 8 Mile Walk and Fun Run.
