The Folklorist

The Folklorist is NewTV’s Emmy® award–winning original program that provides a captivating glimpse into the lesser-known occurrences in history. Through the use of dramatic reenactments and narration, the show covers a wide range of folklore, including tales of legendary lost cities, forgotten heroes and outrageous hoaxes, while revealing what has been omitted from history books and what lives on as folklore.

The Folklorist is a family-friendly program that both parents and children can enjoy together. Both entertaining to watch and filled with educational content, our hope is to encourage a younger generation of viewers to become actively involved with learning about history, and to continue to pass down these stories to future generations.

The Folklorist is produced by NewTV, a non-profit community media center located in Newton, Massachusetts, and was produced by Andrew Eldridge & Angela Harrer with Robert Kelly as Executive Producer.
