Dr. Umair Mahmood Siddiqui

Dr. Umair Mahmood Siddiqui is an internationally recognized Islamic scholar and Professor of Comparative Study of Religions at the University of Karachi. He has served on Pakistan’s Council of Islamic Ideology and is the Patron-in-Chief of the City of Knowledge research institute. A regular delegate at OIC’s International Islamic Fiqh Academy, he has authored acclaimed works on Islamic law, theology, and Pakistan’s ideology. Notable among them is his study on Ibn al-Arabi and his book The Prohibition of Declaring a Muslim as an Infidel. Advocating a balanced path he calls “dynamic orthodoxy,” Dr. Umair frequently appears in media, offering Quranic insights on contemporary issues.
