Yaw-Yan Detroit

Yaw-Yan, short for “Sayaw ng Kamatayan” (Dance of Death), is a Filipino martial art developed in the 1970s by Napoleon “Nap” Fernandez. It combines elements of traditional Filipino martial arts with influences from Muay Thai, Karate, and Judo. Yaw-Yan emphasizes powerful, flowing kicks, elbows, punches, and spinning attacks, with a strong focus on striking and stand-up fighting. It’s known for its effectiveness in both street self-defense and competitive fighting.
