Air Attack - Aerial Wildfire Operations

A site for original aerial wildfire content. The intent of sharing this content is to educate the curious and visually demonstrate the work environment for trainees. Considerable time compression occurs in the cockpit during aerial fire suppression that greatly magnifies the challenges of coordinating aerial resources with ground suppression activities. There is a significant workload for both the pilot, and the aerial firefighter, and their effective teamwork (CRM) is critical to the safety of the operation.

The task is made easier with clear policies, procedures, and common terminology. This page will provide examples of those procedures for education and training purposes.
