JCW Outdoors
JCW Outdoors is a channel dedicated to pheasant hunting in northeastern South Dakota. I set out to create videos that capture the simple nature of a man and his dog as they chase the South Dakota state bird from the first day of the 3 day season for Residents Only to the end of the traditional pheasant hunting season. Content will mostly take place on public land, but there will certainly be private land hunts, too, as I pursue wild pheasants. I would also note that I do not do any pay hunts, not that there is anything wrong with that, but I just want to point out that I rely on public land and the grace of local landowners. I keep in the misses & mishaps to give the viewer the most accurate portrait of how I hunt. More than anything, I want to convey how hunting is steeped in tradition, one that goes back to our most distant ancestors in their pursuit of survival to the 21st century where we continue to tap into the personal and spiritual nature of what hunting is truly all about
