Anemoya

Anemoya is an Egyptian progressive metal band formed in 2024 in Cairo. The band was founded by vocalist Akram Soliman, who initially pursued a solo alternative project but sought a more metal-oriented sound. He joined forces with guitarist Kareem El Sharabasy, and together they wrote the early material that would define the band's style. Soon after, guitarist Khaled El Nahas expanded on the sound and coined the band's name, "Anemoya," which refers to nostalgia for a time never experienced. Bassist Moustafa Nazir and drummer Yassin Bahgat completed the lineup.

Anemoya's sound blends elements of progressive and gothic metal, drawing influences from bands such as Opeth, Katatonia, Lacuna Coil, Soen, and Nightingale. Their music is characterized by intricate guitar work, dynamic compositions, and introspective lyrical themes.
