Squat the Planet

The Squat the Planet YouTube channel explores the world of hitchhikers, hobos, squatters, rubber tramps, and other subcultures wandering the earth by any means necessary. Through a series of travels, interviews, and vlogs, I hope to show you the possibilities for do-it-yourself travel that lie just under the surface of our society. I'll also be taking a look at various anarcho-punk projects we find along the way, all with the goal of inspiring you, the viewer, to get out there and do something just a little bit different.

I'm Matt Derrick, founder of the travel community for misfit wanderers, Squat the Planet. We're an online message board looking to spread the philosophy and benefits of DIY travel to anyone looking for an alternative to the social norm. Think of us as a punk rock traveler's aid service.
