Political Intimidation & Public Bullying

I am Roddey Reid, Professor Emeritus, University of California, San Diego, where I taught courses on Societies and Cultures in the U.S., France, and Japan for 25 years. Since 2008 I have been researching and writing on trauma, daily, life, and political intimidation and bullying in the US and Europe.

This channel features interviews and short audio podcasts of snippets from my book, "Confronting Political Intimidation and Public Bullying: A Handbook for the Trump Era and Beyond" (272 pp, 2025 edition) and from my blog "UnSafe Thoughts" on the fluidity of politics in dangerous times.

The book offers a unique guide to the strategies and dynamics of contemporary political intimidation and public bullying: the dangers they present, the snares and traps that envelop their targets, and the lessons to be learned. In the end it is about shedding light on the dark side of contemporary national life in order to see beyond it.
