Don Gomez
My name is Don Gomez, A.K.A. Rising, and I am a polymer clay artist. I use a sculpting technique called Millefiori to create distinctive decorative patterns of different colors into Cains of Polymer Clay. The term millefiori is a combination of the Italian words "mille" (thousand) and "fiori" (flowers). A. Pellatt (in his book"Curiosities of Glass Making") was the first to use the term "millefiori", which first appeared in the Oxford Dictionary in 1849. The beads were called mosaic beads before that time. While the use of this technique long precedes the term millefiori, it is now frequently associated Polumer Clay.
I can create anything from small bead work, to full scale wall mosaics. I have been doing it for seventeen years now and want to someday be known and endeared for what I love to do. I would very much like to create a custom work of art for you. You tell me the subject matter and colors and leave the rest to me.
