Orani Choral Society

The Orani Choral Society (OCS) is the oldest existing choir in the town of its name. Established by Dr. Buenaventura A. Casimiro in the 1960s, it was originally named "Orani Choral Group" made up of local teachers; they sang for various events within the town such as wedding receptions and school functions. Then, by end of the 1970s, they opened their doors to parishioners of different professions, hence their current name. Upon Dr. Casimiro's death in 1994, Ernesto C. Quiambao entered as the official conductor, consequently embracing a completely sectarian identity. Some of their regular engagements are the weekly Sunday morning mass, the annual Harana kay Maria [Serenade for Mary], and other parochial activities that involve music. Currently, OCS is led by Amando L. Pantaleon and Dr. Jayvee C. Gutierrez as rehearsal masters, and it is still a group largely composed of professionals longing for a community where they can express themselves musically through faith.
