Patricia Vlieg

Patricia Vlieg is a Panamanian singer, pianist, guitarist, composer, and music researcher. A graduate of Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory, she is internationally recognized for blending Latin American music, jazz, and world music. Her notable albums include TUS PROMESAS, ORIGEN, A UNA CANTORA (a tribute to Mercedes Sosa), and *CABANGA*, also released in Japan. She has performed with global artists like Paquito D’Rivera and Lila Downs, and collaborated with Japanese musicians such as Takayuki Oshikane and Tomohiro Yahiro. Since her first visit to Japan in 2011, she has led multiple cultural exchange concerts, including the 120th anniversary of Panama–Japan relations in 2024. Patricia is a Quincy Jones Award recipient and is currently pursuing a master’s in International Relations and Peace Studies at Soka University. She speaks five languages and promotes cultural dialogue through music.
