The Shanghai Museum

The Shanghai Museum has been an attentive centre for the preservation, study, and display of ancient Chinese art since 1952. It is home to over 1M objects, especially renowned for its world-class collections of ancient Chinese bronzes, ceramics, paintings, and calligraphy. The Shanghai Museum East, our new building located in the Pudong New Area of Shanghai, is now fully open to the public. It offers a 113,000 sqm space celebrating humanity in art, history and culture, with reimagined Chinese art galleries, exciting exhibitions and immersive interactions.
