Aspire To Inspire Living
Aspire to Inspire Living was created so our family can motivate others to start living a sustainable life, even in their own suburban backyard!
After 2020 hit and the kids were doing distance learning, I thought it would be a great idea to utilize our backyard. We decided a chicken coop and garden beds would be a great addition to our suburban backyard. Not knowing anything about chickens or gardening, except for the fact that I had a black thumb, lol, we started our urban backyard homestead!
We made lots of mistakes made keeping the chick's in the master closet until they were big enough to go outside, fighting off Bob cats, growing, what we thought were cucumbers but we're actually loofah sponge plants (they were very chewy) and so many more learning experiences that first year. We then decided that since the cost of food was rising quickly and the quality of meat was getting questionable to start raining our own meat rabbits, and the journey continues 4.5 years later!
