Mittal Patel works for the nomadic and de-notified tribes of Gujarat. VSSM, a non--profit organization founded in 2006 is now spread across 90 Blocks and 20 districts of Gujarat, Smt. Mittal Patel along with her team is doing tremendous work in the field of education, health care, disaster relief, rehabilitation, environment and many more. The organisation is also working on government policies so that this extremely marginalized section of the society get their rights and benefits of the policies. These tribes were hardly seen as they were suffering problems related to identity and dignity in the society. VSSM was thus started with the vision of giving these tribes their identity and solve the challenges faced by them in day to day life.
