Stavanger Symphony Orchestra
Stavanger is located on the southwest coast of Norway. As the country’s fourth-largest city, it is known for its rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and vibrant food and arts scene. Surrounded by fjords, the beaches of Jæren, and mountains like Pulpit Rock, the city is also home to Stavanger Symphony Orchestra (SSO).
The orchestra performs in Fartein Valen at Stavanger Concert Hall, ranked as one of the best acoustic halls in Europe.
With international ambitions, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra strives to inspire and enrich its audience with symphonic core repertoire, contemporary music, and new artistic experiences across genres and expressions. Its chief conductor is the Latvian maestro Andris Poga.
