Ryan Leung
21-year-old pianist, HKU | Eton College | Hong Kong
Born in Palo Alto, CA, Ryan spent his early childhood years in Hong Kong where he studied with Mr. Kin-wai Shum and Professor Gabriel Kwok. He obtained his LTCL Diploma and LRSM in piano in 2015, all with distinctions. In 2013, he was awarded the Music Scholarship to study in Eton College, studying piano with Mr. David Goode and Prof. Joan Havill.
Ryan was the winner of many local and overseas competitions, including the Junior Exhibitioner Award (2010) and the Tom Lee Music Scholarship (2013) of the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, to highlight a few. He was awarded the Sir Robert Black Trust Fund Grants for Talented Students in Hong Kong in 2011. He was one of the twelve finalists in the 15th Ettlingen International Piano Competition for Young Pianists held in Germany in August 2016, as well as a semi-finalist in the Manchester International Piano Concerto Competition in August 2017.
