Helder Oliveira (b. 1987), composer, music educator, pianist and theorist, holds a PhD in Music Composition from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and was a 2019–20 Fulbright Visiting Researcher at Louisiana State University. Dr. Oliveira has received several composition awards around the world and his works have been played by several groups, such as Mivos Quartet, KV VITAs Chamber Choir, Chorus Austin Chamber Ensemble, Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha-Eisenach, Camargo Guarnieri Quartet, and Goiás Phillharmonic Orchestra. Dr. Oliveira has works published by Edition Svitzer, Scherzo Editions, Alea Publishing & Recording, T.U.X. People's Music, and Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
