DWBaig is a renowned folk musician, singer, documentary filmmaker, and language & communications specialist from Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan. He has composed, arranged, and produced songs in multiple languages, including Wakhi, Burushaski, Balti, Shina, Khowar, Pashto, Urdu, and French. With a Master’s in Media & Communication Sciences, he pioneered digital TV in Gilgit-Baltistan through High Asia TV and founded IPPAC to promote arts, culture, and endangered languages.
Baig has revived folk instruments like Ghizek, Pamiri Sitar, Qupuz, and Pamiri Rubab and introduced Pakistan’s first Mountain Folk Music School Integration Program. He collaborated on Indus Blues and played Pamiri Sitar in Pakistan’s national anthem, produced by the EU in Pakistan. He has worked with renowned artists from Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.
