Psaltopedia

Psaltopedia is devoted to spreading the authentic Byzantine Ecclesiastical sacred chant, a tradition inherited from the early Fathers of the Church and passed through generations of chanters, while preserving its genuine ethos. Such exceptional ethos is capable of communicating the sacred words, being chanted in a clear and methodic mode.

This channel consists of posting new talents in our Church, while proclaiming in our Eastern Liturgy: " Your own of Your own we offer to You, in all and for all." Such talents are the God-given gifts which Jesus have entrusted to us, and we shall offer them up to our Lord and Savior!

The word Psaltopedia is a blending of two greek words: Psalto (Ψάλτο) & Pedia (Παιδεία). Psalto refers to «Ψάλτικα» (Byzantine Ecclesiastical Music, the neume notations) or «Ψάλτης» (chanter). The word Pedia «Παιδεία», means learning, educating, rearing of a child. Hence, the expression literally translates as "Chanter instruction" or “Psaltika learning”.
