Tom Freitag und seine Band CLAPTONMANIA haben sich, als eine der wenigen Bands auf dem europäischen Kontinent, ganz dem musikalischen Werk Eric Claptons verschrieben und sich einen festen Platz in der Musikszene erspielt. Bandleader und Gitarrist Tom Freitag, Preisträger der bayerischen Musikakademie, startete dieses außergewöhnliche Musikprojekt im Herbst 2008. Tom und die erfahrenen Mitglieder der Band CLAPTONMANIA interpretieren die Songs von Eric Clapton dabei mit absoluter Leidenschaft und eigener musikalischer Handschrift. Tom ist mit der Musik von Eric Clapton aufgewachsen und entwickelte im Laufe seiner Musikerlaufbahn seinen persönlichen Stil. Ihm geht es nicht um das Imitieren eines einzigartigen Künstlers, sondern um die zeitgemäße, leidenschaftliche aber auch respektvolle Interpretation des musikalischen Werkes von Eric Clapton.
