The Association of BellTel Retirees Inc. is a (501)(C-3) non-profit corporation advocating for more than 230,000 Verizon union and management retirees. The group’s membership currently has more than 130,000 retiree members.
The organization works aggressively to protect the pensions and earned healthcare benefits that retirees earned during their decades –long careers. The group achieves this through litigation, state and federal legislation, proxy proposals and negotiation.
The Association conducts activities designed to educate elected federal, state and local representatives and promotes the passage of legislation that will protect and guarantee rather than invade retirees’ hard earned pensions and benefits.
Many of the group’s members hail the old Bell System: NY Telephone, NJ Bell and Bell Atlantic, Bell of PA,Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone, Diamond State Telephone, New England Telephone, the Verizon spin-off retirees from Idearc/ SuperMedia now DexMedia & GTE and MCI.
