MauMau Chronicles

Kenya's Mau Mau war against British colonialism is of great historical importance. Kikuyu-led, it energised many liberation struggles, including those in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Algeria. It's political leaders, including Jomo Kenyatta, and military leaders like Dedan Kimathi, inspired the likes of Nelson Mandela, Biko, Sobukwe, Hani, Mugabe, and Samora Machel, as well as Pan-Africanists such as Dubois, Walter Rodney, George Padmore, Franz Fanon, as well as the African-American civil rights movement and its leaders such as Malcom X and Martin Luther King Jnr. Retrogressive forces have continued to disparage Mau Mau and to skew the telling and interpretation of this history. Mau Mau Chronicles documents Mau Mau anti-colonial war history in new and innovative ways, by documenting the voices of Mau Mau veterans, survivors of the war, as well as commentators on that episode of Kenyan history. This channel is dedicated to Mau Mau fighters, future Kenyans and lovers of freedom.
