Sailing Falken af Ahus
We (Eva and Thomas) have now began documenting sailing to Svalbard and Spitsbergen whit FALKEN af ÅHUS from Åhus, south of Sweden. Present time we are going south after reached our goal. Our intention is to be close to live when we publish episodes. We also try to document harbors and hope there can be useful information if one likes to visit same port. Our journey begun May 16th, 2023. The boat is a Malö 116, negative stern from 1987. LOA 12.1m, beam 3.65m and draft 1.70m. Teak deck renewed 2017 and electricity also. Malö was building boats in Orust, Sweden. Under two years at available time, we have prepared the boat for arctic waters. We are now ready after all boat projects who kept us occupied. The distance of route Åhus-Svalbard-Åhus will probably be around 3800 Nautical miles. At the end of episodes there will be a collaboration whit a school class (Class 4 Fjälkestadsskola) around 11 years old students.
