Casting Reflections
My name is Bue Poulsen. When I was eight years old, I got chronic fish fever. Today, fly fishing occupies a large part of my life. I love to fish for the strong Atlantic salmon found in the Danish rivers. Being able to present my fly anywhere is key for success.
This has led me to become an FFI (Fly Fishers International) “Certified Casting Instructor”. I can proudly say that I became the first European to pass the new FFI certification as "Two-handed Master Casting Instructor" .
In the 1990 edition of Nap & Nyt, I read for the first time about Surfcasting . It fascinated me that with special gear and special Surfcasting techniques you could get your cast over 200 meters out. I had to learn that, but it wasn't until 2002 that I met some people who could teach me.
It has since won several Danish championships in Surfcasting and at the time of writing I am the holder of the Danish records in the 125, 150 and 175 gram categories with 230, 232 and 226 meters respectively.
