I am a PhD cognitive scientist and am currently a researcher, educator, and collaborator in the medical space devoted to Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS).
This channel is meant to provide educational content about CIRS, both from a scientific and patient perspective. CIRS is a multi-symptom and multi-system illness that could affect up to 20-24% of the US population.
CIRS patients become chronically sick from exposure to toxins from toxins produced by fungi/bacteria that grow in the interior of water-damaged buildings, tick-borne infections, algae blooms, fish toxins, and spider bites, among others.
Because of the complexity of CIRS, patients are often misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia, autoimmune disorders, mood/personality/developmental disorders, and even neurodegenerative diseases, and more!
