Andrei Zanescu

Assistant Professor of Communication Studies (Part-Time), and Postdoctoral Fellow @ Concordia University (Montreal, Canada).

My work focuses on the overlap between AAA game and Hollywood film studios, with particular focus on blockbuster games and the Game Awards. I specialize in the study of cultural simulation in these blockbuster games (digital and analog), along with their underlying cultural systems.

I also wrote a dissertation about Assassin's Creed and Magic: The Gathering, as well as a co-authored book about small-scale streamers on Twitch (MIT Press, 2025)
