SARBU - South African Rat Breeders Union
SARBU is the oldest rat breeder group in South Africa and was established in 2006 after the fancy rat import by Liezel Hatting of Moonstones Rattery.
It is a union of equal and independent breeders who work towards a common goal to improve and preserve our South African fancy rat varieties. Breeders adhere to a strict code of ethics to produce and home animals in a responsible way and are expected to give ongoing support to their adopters regarding health, behaviour and general care.
We will be using YouTube as an education and support aid for our adopters and other rat owners, especially those from South Africa.
View the complete SARBU code of ethics and other rat and breeder information on the SARBU website.
