The Devil's Blacksmith documentary

Austrian sculptor and blacksmith Walfird Huber has dedicated several decades of skill and ambition to preserving and promoting the art and craft of hand-forging iron. The wrought-iron band hinges found on the portals of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, one of the obvious masterpieces of true blacksmith tradition, have always stirred the imagination of craftsmen. After numerous attempts Walfrid Huber has been able to solve the riddle of reconstructing these ironwork intricacies. Our film aims at documenting this working process. Currently we are collecting donations that would allow the film to enter post-production phase and give us the opportunity to add some local scenes to be filmed in Paris.
