📖 Since childhood, I’ve always admired my grandpa’s library. I spent hours in his reading room, drawing and watching him read whenever we visited. I rarely touched or read his precious, beautiful books, but I was always curious about the stories they held.

At the beginning of this year, Pa closed the book of life. Little did I know what was coming next. I inherited his wonderful collection — with a twist that makes me smile and that I now feel ready to share.

He wanted me to clean the books, dust them, and remove all pencil notes. He suggested I read each one and, afterwards, find them a new home, knowing I live in a tiny space. I honor his wishes and feel blessed that he had the confidence to entrust them to me.

I’m now dedicating my free time to his beloved books. I’m anxious yet excited to read them all — even if it takes years. Most are in German, Dutch and a few in English. When I’m finished, I’ll find them a new home.
