Regency History
We love researching and sharing the history of Regency Britain.
The Regency was an age of elegance - of Jane Austen, of Wellington at Waterloo, of balls, routs and royal extravagance.
It also saw the early flowerings of the industrial revolution, laying the foundations for Britain's Victorian Empire.
We're also authors - of history books and historical fiction, and of the popular Regency History blog.
We use this channel to share our excitement about all things Regency, and also to inform, inspire and encourage authors and others fascinated by this period in British history.
The heart of the Regency is the years 1811-1820, when the Prince Regent ruled in place of his father, George III.
But the spirit of the Regency began earlier, in the last years of the eighteenth century, and ran on into the reign of George IV (who died in 1830).
