The Courtly Arts Performers of Victoria

We are an Australian non-profit Renaissance & Baroque dance performance group, based in Melbourne.
In 1978 Helga and Mark Hill formed the Early Arts Guild of Victoria, and its performance groups: the Early Music Consort of Melbourne and the Ripponlea Renaissance and Baroque Dancers, who for four decades delighted audiences in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria with their performances of historic European music and dance.
When Helga and Mark Hill retired in 2017, the remaining musicians and dancers resolved to continue independently as the Courtly Arts Performers of Victoria.
Since then, we have undertaken to proudly demonstrate Helga’s lifetime of work and dedication to bringing alive historic works from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods to the best of our ability. Now, as the group evolves, we have also begun to produce our own interpretations of extant written choreography, applying the skills and knowledge learned under Helga’s tutelage.
