Bertus Borgers

Bertus Borgers (1947) is a mature musician who started out on the age of 15 playing saxophone in local bands near Eindhoven in the South of The Netherlands. The Beatles and The Stones inspired him to write and sing his own songs.

During the seventies he built a name in the Dutch rock scene as a frontman of Mr Albert Show and Sweetd’Buster and he became a favorite guest player on live-gigs as well as on recordings for well-known acts like Golden Earring, Herman Brood e.o.

Starting halfway the nineties, Bertus took a leading role in developing education lines for rock musicians. This resulted in the initiation of the Rockacademie, the first vocational course in rock music leading to a accredited Bachelor of Music. It didn’t stop him playing countless gigs and recording his music.

These days he’s playing the stage with 3 young lads forming the band The Young Retro’s. In years of age, Bertus is older than those three musicians together. He introduced them to the music he played round 19
